Five CSPC Board Members
Five CSPC Board Members

The Special General Meeting on Dec. 11, 2017 was well attended.

Thank you to all those who came out. We especially appreciate that people made time for this meeting even though it was December which is already a socially crowded month.

The board was given direction by the membership to continue to discuss some type of collaboration with Senior Resource Society and to get answers to questions that were raised.

With that in mind the board will meet in January to put all of the information together and respond to Senior Resource Society soon.

Once again, thank you to all who participated in this discussion, including those who have done so by via phone and email.

The Sound Of SeniorsJulie Andrews’ new take on an old song.

Maalox and nose drops and needles for knitting.
Walkers and handrails and new dental fittings,
Bundles of magazines tied up in string,
These are a few of my favorite things.

Cadillac’s and cataracts, hearing aids and glasses,
Polident and Fixodent and false teeth in glasses,
Pacemakers, golf carts and porches with swings,
These are a few of my favorite things..

When the pipes leak, when the bones creak,
When the knees go bad.
I simply remember my favorite things,
And then I don’t feel so bad.

Hot tea and crumpets and corn pads with bunions,
No spicy hot foods or food cooked with onions,
Bathrobes and heating pads and hot meals they bring,
These are a few of my favorite things.

Back pains, confused brains, no need for sinnin’
Thin bones and fractures and hair that is thinnin’
And we won’t mention our short, shrunken frames,
When we remember our favorite things.

When the joints ache, when the hips break,
When the eyes grow dim,
Then I remember the great life I’ve had,
And then I don’t feel so bad.

Julie Andrews. Performed at Radio City Music Hall, October 1, 2004, her 69th birthday. She is now 85 years old!
